چکیده
Abstract Background Right ventricular dysfunction (RVD) is an important predictor for outcome in patients undergoing transcatheter mitral or tricuspid valve edge-to-edge repair (M/T-TEER). Due to the unique anatomy and contraction pattern of RV, three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE) has emerged as a valuable tool assessment RV function. While 3DE data showed reverse remodeling (RVRR) following T-TEER, respective are absent setting M-TEER. Purpose We sought assess RVRR after M-TEER using comparing baseline follow-up measurements. Methods Patients treatment relevant MR between August 2016 February 2021 with eligible transthoracic at were included study. comprised end-diastolic end-systolic volumes (RVEDV3D, RVESV3D), total stroke volume (RVSV3D) ejection fraction (RVEF3D). Further, length (RVL3D) well basal (RVbase3D) mid-ventricular diameters (RVmid3D) derived from 3DE. was assessed change parameters dimensions follow-up. Results A 66 (45.5% female; age 78.5±8.2 years; EuroScore II 4.6±3.6%) From latest available (median interval 364 days, interquartile range 180–728 days), significant reduction RVEDV3D RVESV3D observed (RVEDV3D 140.2±50.2 ml 128.1±46.1 ml, p<0.01 93.1±37.8ml 87.1±34.7ml, p=0.04). The decrease 3D-derived linear primarily occurred septolateral direction, while did not significantly. associated TR severity. Of note, also left (LVRR). Conclusion effective option which leads LVRR RVRR. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None.

Endovascular Edge-to-Edge Mitral Valve Repair
Background—The edge-to-edge technique is an accepted method for the surgical repair of a regurgitant mitral valve. This study reports the initial use of an endovascular technology that enables a double-orifice edge-to-edge mitral valve repair without cardiopulmonary bypass in an animal model. Methods and Results—Adult pigs (n 14) were anesthetized, and left thoracotomy was performed for epicard...

متن کاملPulmonary Hemorrhage following Edge-to-Edge Mitral Valve Repair
Mitral valve repair with the MitraClip device has emerged as an effective treatment option for patients with severe mitral regurgitation and contraindications for surgical interventions. While the procedure is not known to cause pulmonary complications, we describe two cases of pulmonary hemorrhage following percutaneous mitral valve repair. The patients did well with supportive care and reinit...
متن کاملThe edge-to-edge technique for mitral valve repair
The edge-to-edge technique was introduced in the surgical armamentarium of mitral valve repair in 1991 and has progressively been used to restore mitral competence in the setting of degenerative, post-endocarditis and functional mitral regurgitation. Appropriate indications and awareness of the important technical aspects of the procedure are prerequisites for a good outcome. The free edges of ...
متن کاملAcute Mitral Regurgitation Secondary to Papillary Muscle Tear: Is Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Mitral Valve Repair a New Paradigm?
Severe mitral regurgitation (MR) secondary to papillary muscle tear is an infrequent but overwhelmingly morbid and often fatal complication of acute myocardial infarction occurring in 1% to 3% of patients. In-hospital mortality without surgical correction can approach 80%; however, even with surgical correction, papillary muscle tear carries a mortality rate between 19% and 53%. While considera...
